After the “Google Glass” smart contact lenses are coming !

First it was the Google Glass (see https://substance.carrousel-staging.com//google-glass-tout-ce-que-vous-avez-toujours-voulu-savoir-sans-jamais-oser-le-demander/ and https://substance.carrousel-staging.com//google-glass-de-la-haute-technologie/ ) now Google wants to go a step further by the team made with Swiss drug maker Novartis to develop smart contact lenses with embedded electronics to improve vision and monitor health. The first goal is to develop the contact lens with non-invasive sensors, microchips and embedded miniaturized electronics to monitor insulin levels for people with diabetes, or to restore the eye’s natural focus on people who can no longer read without glasses.
However, for Google this will be the first step in a long research which objective will be reduce the Glass project to contact lens. The team expects to get the first prototypes by early next year, but the product will be ready in about five years.
